A walk through on marketplace fees and coach payouts. These charges are deducted at the time of booking and are separate from STRIPE credit card processing fees.
Overview
The Thrive Sports Marketplace is the largest sport coaching marketplace where athletes book the best in private and group coaching services. When you list your offerings in the marketplace, you’re placing them in front of million consumers looking to improve their game. On average, 20,000 new clients discover coaches listed in the marketplace every year, and you get to take advantage of that!
The fees for promoting your coaching services in the Thrive Sports Marketplace are performance-based, which means there is no cost to you if we do not sell any services of yours through the marketplace. For every service of yours that we do sell, a percentage of the price of the service option is taken by Thrive Sports.
Note: Thrive Sports takes 20% of the first purchase, 15% of the second, 10% of the third booking, and 3% of all subsequent bookings from a new student on the Marketplace.
There are two different options for how this fee is paid:
Pass Booking Fee to Student: The booking fee will be added to your listed lesson price and charged to the student at the time of booking.
Deduct Booking Fee from Lesson Price: The booking fee will be subtracted from your listed lesson price, and the student will pay only the original listed price.
Here are some examples of service offer prices and what the fee taken would be for the first booking:

Thrive Sports charges fees based on the quantity of booking sold to a individual client. Here’s an example of the fee for a lesson priced at $65.00 each time it’s booked through the marketplace for a given client:

Note: Thrive Sports will not take any fees for existing clients of a coach.
How does Thrive Sports know if a given booking is from a current client or not?
Our comprehensive, three-step process ensures we attribute new clients accurately and efficiently. The steps are:
Step 1 – Existing Client Record: When a client makes a credit card purchase in the Thrive Sports Marketplace, we first check if a client record already exists on your Thrive Sports site by looking for a match for name, email, or phone number. This helps catch clients who may use a different email address or have name variations. We do NOT charge a fee if there are matches from previous bookings.
Step 2 – Business Link Tracking: If no record is found, we check if the client arrived at the Thrive Sports Marketplace by clicking on one of the Thrive Sports Marketplace links you may have used on your business website, emails, or social media. We create special links with your Coach ID to track if a client is associated with your business. If we detect that a client came from one of your links, we do NOT charge a fee.

We actively promote our network of coaches to millions of athletes and parents of athletes all around the US and Canada. On average Thrive Sports coaches get 3 new students per month being listed on our Marketplace, and we’re just getting started!
We’re steadfast in making sure our customers are being connected to the best coaches out there. That’s why our network of coaches only consists of professional coaches affiliated with a formal organization, college student athletes, and former professional athletes.
There is NO cost to be listed on Thrive Sports.

We encourage all Marketplace Coaches to signup for STRIPE through the Thrive Sports platform. This enables us to pay you at the time of booking (if you are a Thrive Coach subscriber), or immediately after the end of the lesson (if you are NOT a Thrive Coach subscriber).
In the event that you are unable to utilize STRIPE, your clients will pay you in person at the time of the lesson.
